As part of the Partners for Healthy Pets Coalition, MVMA members have agreed upon the importance of veterinary practices embracing effective communication skills as a way to improve preventive healthcare for patients.  Therefore, we thought you'd be interested to see the results of the PHP's latest study that can improve patient care and utilizes PHP communication tools.

PHP recently published a white paper:  The Opportunity: Pet Owners don't always hear what we think we tell them (and how to fix that).  Practices can "fix" their gaps with PHP's professionally developed staff training communication modules, available for free at

More than five years of data compiled from staff and client Opportunity survey responses indicates significant disconnects between what veterinary healthcare teams say to clients during an annual checkup and what clients actually hear.  The study also shows that veterinary practices have a previously unrecognized opportunity to better communicate no only with what is being done in a preventative healthcare exam, but also how the exam benefits the pet, and by extension the pet owner.
